How to delete your account (in the app)
- Open the Matchfilm app and sign in.
- Open Settings and choose Delete account (the same option may appear in subscription or paywall screens).
- Confirm deletion in the dialog.
This is the primary way to request deletion without contacting support.
Cannot use the app?
Email us from the address registered on your Matchfilm account. Use subject Account deletion request and include your registered email and display name. We will verify ownership and process your request. We aim to respond within a reasonable time (typically within 30 days). Contact options are also listed under About in the app and on matchfilm.app.
What happens to your data
As described in our Privacy Policy (Section 6 — Data retention):
- When you delete your account, we immediately anonymize personal identifiers (name, email, avatar) and mark the account as deactivated.
- Anonymized activity data (e.g. watch history, ratings) may be retained for up to 90 days for fraud prevention and legal compliance, then permanently deleted.
- We may retain minimal records longer only where required by law.
- Third-party providers (e.g. Google Firebase) may hold data under their own policies; see our Privacy Policy.
